Rules of the road

- · Group calls with wali present after the second or third one-on-one.
- · Time-zone discipline, never let conversation eat sleep.
- · Set a 'meet in person' deadline. Without it, courtship drifts.
When to fly
Once both families are aligned and both individuals are sure on paper, fly. The next conversation has to happen in the same room. There's no substitute.
